Offered for sale at No Reserve, is this 1925 Rickenbacker Brougham Sedan. A well restored vehicle, this car is as much an example of American history as it is automotive history. In the post World War I era, perhaps no American was as recognizable as the famed fighter ace Eddie Rickenbacker. Looking to capitalize on his post war notoriety and the growing automotive craze, Rickenbacker established his own automotive company in 1921, using the famous top hat inside a ring emblem from his fighter squadron, the 94th Aero Squadron. According to a previous appraisal, this vehicle is extremely rare and 1 of 61 known to exist.
This vehicle was purchased by the current owner in 2004. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had 1937 plates and the odometer read 29,003. A total frame off restoration was performed by well respected classic car restorer Ken Clark of Pittsfield, Maine. The restoration was completed in 2007 and the current mileage is just over 30,000 miles, indicating that this Rickenbacker has been well maintained, and driven little since its restoration. According to the consignor the seat cushions are original and still in very good condition. For the last two years, this vehicle has been on display at the Larz Anderson Museum. Sold with a registration.
