This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a fine example of one of the most iconic cars in American automotive history. When it first debuted in 1955, the Thunderbird was marketed as a personal luxury automobile. Designed to reflect both style and speed, the Thunderbird was meant for smooth cruising and luxury touring with the power and performance to put on a show when needed. From 1955 to 1957, the ‘baby birds” as they have affectionately been nicknamed, were the only years of the Thunderbird being a two seat roadster.
Described by the consignor as being in very good condition throughout, this 1957 Thunderbird is powered by the Ford 292ci “Y” Block V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. Thunderbird comes equipped with the dual four-barrel carburetor setup which was available at the time as a dealer installed option. On the exterior, this Thunderbird is painted in the iconic Ford Coral, a highly desirable color for the collector car market today. According to the consignor this vehicle comes with both its soft top and accessory hard top. The Hard top is not painted, so the prospective buyer is free to paint it whatever color they choose.
