This 1930 Packard Eight Phaeton is an elegant example of Packard’s commitment to excellence in both engineering and design. For the last decade it has been a part a private collection of exceptional Brass-era through 1930’s classics. An older restoration that has been well maintained, this Phaeton still envokes the emotion of style and class the way Packard intended.
According to information on the vehicles data tag, this 7th Series Phaeton was delivered in late May of 1930. Under the hood this Packard is powered by the 320ci/90hp Packard Standard Eight engine. The engine starts and runs very well and provides strong power as the vehicle accelerates up to cruising speed. After years on display in the private collection, a light service was performed including draining and refilling the engine coolant, oil change with straight 30wt oil. A new electric fuel pump and regulator were added for reliability and consistency while driving.
On the exterior, this Phaeton has a captivating two-tone copper and light brown color combination that attract immediate attention. The short, angled windshield combined with the long, sleek lines of the body create a sporty and stylish look. Overall, the paint and finish produced a wonderful shine.
Inside the vehicle one will find a luxurious and spacious ride. A full complement of gauges is fitted nicely into the design of the dash area. Upholstery and trim work consist of a nice soft brown leather. A tan color braided carpet complements the upholstery well. Passengers in the rear enjoy a large open space with plenty of comfort. The top is a tan canvas trimmed in brown.
After many years of display in a collection of high-end early luxury vehicles, this Packard Phaeton is ready for its new steward to enjoy and return to the road. A vehicle such as this would be welcome at any driving, touring, or show events of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) or the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA). Vehicle is sold with a title.
