This handsome 1923 Ford Model T Runabout has been restored and sports a unique color combination. The Ford Model T is an automobile that was produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927. It is generally regarded as the first mass-affordable automobile which made car travel available to middle-class Americans. This example is the product an older, comprehensive restoration. The overall quality is much nicer then when it left the factory at Ford. Since completion it’s been part of a few private collections. The exterior is beautiful with its iconic styling design characteristics. The body on this car is very straight with very good panel fitment. The body was re-painted in the unique color of Copper which dresses it well. The fenders and running boards were re-painted in the factory original color of Black and decorated with Copper pin striping. The paintwork was recently detailed by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS to a brilliant shine. The convertible top mechanism was restored, re-painted black and covered with a new black canvas top that has dual plastic windows. Two leather straps hold the top frame down on the rear. It has new dual front windshields with a chrome mirror attached on the driver’s side. It is equipped with two side Lantern lights that were painted Copper. The driver’s side running board is home to a vintage toolbox that was painted Copper and decorated with black pin striping. The passenger’s side running board Ford logo was painted Copper and it was outfitted with a stainless Ford embossed step for entry into the cabin. The front is decorated with two painted headlight buckets, chrome Ford Moto-Meter and Ford logo on the radiator. The Copper and Silver painted metal 30” wheels have wooden spokes along with a chrome Ford hub. The wheels are wrapped with Excelsior 30 x 3.5 Blackwall bias ply tires. The rear is home to the full spare tire with new black cover. The removable rear trunk compartment has natural wood floors which can act as a bed floor. The battery is accessible through a section in the floors that lifts. The inviting interior is entered through the passenger side. The entire dash and steering column were painted Cooper with some Black appointments. The dash houses the Ford Amperes gauge. The chrome 4-spoke steering wheel has a wooden rim. The inner door panels and bench style was upholstered in Black leather which is soft to the touch. The Black wooden floorboards and three Black pedals are in excellent condition. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. From the information gathered it’s believed to have its factory original 177ci Inline 4-clyinder engine based on the year of the vehicle and engine stamp number. This engine was factory rated with 20hp with a top speed of 42 mph. The engine is coupled to a 2-speed planetary transmission. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. Everything underneath was meticulously restored and painted black. The Model T suspension employed a transversely mounted semi-elliptical spring for each of the front and rear beam axles which allowed a great deal of wheel movement to cope with the dirt roads of the time. The Model T did not have a modern service brake. The right foot pedal applied a band around a drum in the transmission which stopped the rear wheels from turning. The parking brake lever operated bank brakes acting on the inside of the rear brake drums which were an integral part of the rear wheel hubs.
