This 1940 Ford F-1 custom pickup is a fine example of a high quality custom vehicle. Described by its current owner as being in excellent condition, this represents custom upgrades for drivability and performance with maintaining that classic old Ford pickup look.
The previous owner purchased the truck in 2009. At that time this truck had just received, and currently still has, a 350ci Chevrolet small block engine, automatic transmission and a Ford 8 inch rear end with 4:11 gears. The wheels are 14-inch mag wheels in the front, 15-inch in the back.
After purchase in 2009, the prior owner had the frame sandblasted, painted, and rebuilt. At the same time the truck was repainted Viper Red and the bed oak wood was re-varnished. During the 2009 restoration work the prior owners also converted the electrical to 12 volt, installed a new 4bbl Edlebrock carburetor, HEI ignition and new white-faced instrument dials and gauges. A new headliner was installed, as were the door panels. New disc brakes were added in the front and rear, new gas tank, new aluminum muffler and exhaust, new springs and shocks and all new glass and rubber seals. New valve covers, “swan neck” side mirrors, and a new steering wheel finished off the 2009 restoration work. Since 2013, the current owner has added electric power steering, a floor gearshift, and a new three-row radiator with electric fan and installed new LED taillights.
Accompanying this Ford custom is a July 2019 appraisal and condition assessment by an NSRA specialist who also holds multiple ASE certifications. Overall the owner describes this classically styled 1940 Ford F-1 custom pickup as being in excellent condition. Sold with a registration.
