This 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe convertible is a well-restored vehicle that, according to the consignor, is a great running and driving car. Ford’s first all new post WWII design debuted in 1949 quickly became one of the most recognized vehicles in America and is credited by many as being the car that saved Ford. Nicknamed the “Shoebox,” the simple slab sided design with subtle curves and bullet nose “jet age” styling, combined with Fords famous V8, became extremely attractive to the post war buyer.
The current owner purchased this convertible in 2017 and describes his time with the vehicle as a “delightful Maine summer driving experience.” Under the hood this vehicle is powered by the famous 239ci/100hp Ford V8 with a 3 speed transmission. The exterior classic blue finish is in very good condition and is complimented well by its red interior and classic white steering wheel. According to the consignor this vehicle has had all routine, programmed maintenance performed by well-respected local mechanic John French of Camden. When not in use this convertible was always stored in a heated garage. Iconic American convertibles like this 1950 Ford are becoming more and more difficult to find, especially in this condition.
