Prior to current ownership, this convertible underwent a complete and thorough high quality restoration that included full mechanical rebuilds as well as body, and interior. The 255ci Mercury V8 engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration as was the transmission and rear end. According to the odometer this convertible has been driven just over 120 miles since its restoration. Despite the low mileage, the owners of this car have made sure to run, inspect and maintain the condition of this fine automobile. Full restorations were also performed on all systems, including brakes and electrical. Throughout this Mercury, a great deal of attention was given to all areas with an attention to detail and quality. According to the consignor, this vehicle runs exceptionally well.
1951 was the final year of Mercury’s initial new model design for the post WWII era. The same attention to detail and quality was given to the restoration of the exterior and interior of this vehicle. Painted in classic Mercury Monterey Red, the exterior finish has been maintained to a high degree and is complemented beautifully by the restored two-tone brown leather interior. The convertible top material was new at the time of restoration. Options on this Mercury include power windows, power seat and a power operated convertible top.
Classic early 1950’s convertibles of this caliber are a rare find and this Mercury would be a welcome addition to any collector’s stable. Sold with a title.
