This 1953 Hudson Hornet Coupe has undergone a high-quality custom build that took over seven years by a well-respected automotive body shops in Maine.
Starting with the motor, the Hudson engine was swapped for a Chevy 350 with aluminum heads, dual 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetors, a new serpentine belt system, MSD ignition, an aluminum radiator, electric cooling fans, a true dual exhaust, Flow-master mufflers, and an RCI fuel cell. The drive train gained a 350 turbo transmission shift kit, 2800 stall converter, 308 gearing, and a Lokar shifter. The chassis systems also gained many upgrades including power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, 17″ foose wheels, and rear air ride. The interior got a big overall with upgrades such as, vintage air conditioning,Lokar pedals, speed hut gauges, a tilt steering column, a mahogany steering wheel and center console, modern radio and scat front seats. However the body mods are the most extensive: custom trunk, leather custom interior, all new front and side glass, reshaped quarter panels, reshaped fender skirts, reshaped front fender wells, Hagen frenched headlights, one piece front and rear bumpers, pancaked roof, nosed & decked, single stage Dupont black paint, Cokerwhitewall tires, and a complete floor pan finish.
This old Hudson has been upgraded from the headlights to the tailpipe and will be one of the most highly- detailed custom cars in this year’s auction. This car will be sold with a title and current registration.
