1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner
This 1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner is one of the most iconic vehicles produced during the 1950’s and comes to the auction from a private collection of high quality specialty vehicles. Prior ownership of this vehicle also included the prestigious Richard Burdick Collection as well as the well known Charles Cawley collection.
Ford’s creatively and styling are on full display with this particular “Skyliner” edition which features a factory plexiglass front roof allowing extra light and spacious views for the passengers. Ford claimed that the plexiglass roof filtered out up to 60% of the sun’s harmful rays. Also included with this unique Ford is the dealer-installed Ford optioned “peekaboo” plexiglass hood that allows the engine to be seen from the outside.
According to a previous description, this Skyliner appears to have been repainted and the interior redone in its original color but otherwise is an original, unrestored car. The odometer shows just over 13,400 miles. Not only are examples of this style Ford with the plexiglass hood extremely rare, to be found in this condition are even harder to find. Serious collectors should take note of the opportunity to own a vehicle like this. Sold with a title.
