According to the consignor, every detail was addressed during the restoration and “every nut and bolt” was replaced. The restoration resulted in an exceptional vehicle that has won numerous awards, including awards at the Mustang Nationals.
Restoration work on this convertible included a rebuild of the 289ci engine and Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. The rear end was rebuilt and the front end suspension was fully rebuilt as well with the addition of front disk brakes. All suspension components, springs, and shocks are new. The convertible top is totally new and has only been down one time. Both the exterior and interior of this Mustang are excellent, having been restored to award winning condition. Other features on this vehicle include power steering, power brakes and functioning factory air conditioning, even the original radio still works. The interior of this car is a fully restored Pony interior package that also includes the tach and clock options as well as a remote control outside mirror option. Fairly new premium tires are mounted on deluxe style steel wheels. The car has dual exhaust with a through valance for a great sound. Over all, this award winning 289ci Ford Mustang convertible is in excellent condition and comes complete with a manual and records of the restoration work. Sold with a registration.
