This unique pickup still has its factory-issued AM radio as well as the lights and siren that were installed for its Fire department duty. Also installed for its work assignment were padded bench seats and grab rails in thetruck’s bed, likely to transport added Firemen fi need be.
Look over the truck and you’ll notice its very straight, rock-solid body panels that are adorned
with gold leaf accents, a common theme among Fire Department vehicles. Even the inside of
the wheel wells is impressively clean, as is the C10’s underside. Hop in the cab and it’s the same story – – the upholstery, door panels, dash and instruments could pass for a well-cared for five- year-old truck.
Under the broad hood is bulletproofsmall-block power –the 307 V8 that sends thepower to the rear wheels through anequallystout Powerglide automatictransmission. That smooth powertrain and thepower steering make wheeling around this classic Chevy pickup a joy.
If you’re looking for a classic rig that’s a bit different, this sharp ’68 C10 would be a great choice.
