At the height of the American Muscle Car craze, perhaps no vehicle was as popular or sought in its day as the Pontiac GTO and this vehicle represents that time extremely well. This 1970 Pontiac GTO two-door hardtop is an original California car that has undergone a frame-off restoration during which the Ram Air option was added. Included in the sale is the original factory build sheet that states the car was assembled in Fremont, Calif. Factory A/C is included on this car.
This GTO is in very good condition with an excellent running 400ci engine and what appear to be brand new tires. The Pontiac drives down the road straight and true. The vehicle has an imposing stance coming from the aggressive styling of the Ram Air hood and split grille. The metallic green paint is in very good condition and contrasted well by the tan interior.
The GTO was bought in the 2018 New England Auto Auction and well enjoyed by its owner. In 2022, the car was donated to the museum for the purpose of being re-entered into the auction to help raise money for the museum. All proceeds brought by the sale of this vehicle go towards keeping the vehicles and planes in the Owls Head Transportation Museum running and flying.
