For Chevrolet’s iconic Corvette, 1974 brought a rear body-colored “s ft” bumper, which matched the similarly constructed front bumper introduced the year before. This gave the car a more cohesive look as now the front and rear ends matched. This was also the year before the power-sapping catalytic converter debuted and caused engine outputs to tumble. The 1974 Corvette also marked the second to last year that a C3 convertible would be offered. Of the 37,502 Corvettes produced for 1974, only 5,474 were convertibles.
Here we have one of those rare 1974 Corvette convertibles, and this one ticks off plenty of boxes. First off, this gorgeous example has only 57,114 original miles and has been pampered for all of them. A recipient of a Top Flight award means we’re not exaggerating when we say this car is in impressive overall condition.
The original-spec Dark Green paint looks fantastic and the car comes with a color-matched hard top. Original Rally wheels fitted with Goodyear Eagle STs finish off the head-turning visage of the ‘vette. Inside, the black leather seats are likewise in pristine condition and the options include A/C and an AM/FM stereo.
Under the hood is the original L48 350 V8 that’s coupled to the original 4-speed transmission. As you’d expect of such a low-mileage and Top Flight-winning car, the Corvette runs and drives great.
