This Camper Special was originally a West Coast Truck and has been extremely cared for its entire life. At just over 106,000 original miles, this truck reflects the condition and care of a truck with far less miles, but for a 48 year old vehicle the overall average yearly mileage comes out to just over 2,200 miles per year. For 1975, this pickup was the most expensive and highly optioned truck in the 1975 Ford pickup lineup. The majority of these trucks were specially ordered by people who wanted to use them for long distance towing of recreational campers who wanted plenty of power combined with a smooth, comfortable, roomy ride.
Highly optioned, this F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special package includes the Super Cab option with twin rear jump seats. The front bench seat, recently recovered, is plush, comfortable and easily seats 3 people with plenty of room to spare. External features of this truck include dual factory (side) “landing lights” all original factory trim. The front bumper and grill were replaced with the correct replacements. Other high end accessories include factory air conditioning which still blows cold air.
Its current owner has lovingly and meticulously cared for this truck while under his long time stewardship. The powerful 460ci Ford V8 engine is powerful and runs extremely smooth. Recently a new Holley double pump carburetor was added with an Edelbrock intake. The consignor states that everything works as it should and represents this classic truck as being in excellent condition. When driving this truck, the owner states that he feels like it is driving a truck that just came from the factory.
On the exterior, the truck features a brilliant high quality red paint, added accessory running boards and matching red bed cap. The truck bed under the cap is in extremely good condition and matches the condition of the exterior. The new wheels and tires compliment the overall powerful appearance of this truck wonderfully. From then on, these expensive F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special trucks with the Super Cab option were mostly purchased by people who knew how to care for a quality vehicle and this truck reflects that.
