The final generation of the Dodge D-series received a facelift in October 1980 at the same time the “D” series was rebadged as the Dodge Ram Pickup adding styling changes such as including an embossed “DODGE RAM” name on the tailgate along with other changes like the grille and hood, the taillights, and the entire interior. More subtle was the addition of a “shoulder” line. Beginning in 1982, even more corrosion-resistant steel was used in the construction of the trucks.
This Dodge D-150 is powered by a 318Ci V8 engine breathing through a new custom dual exhaust, and power is sent to the wheels through an Auto-Torqueflite automatic transmission.
Recent work to this truck is all 5 “Turbine” wheels have been restored and new tires installed, a leather wrapped steering wheel, new seats with marine grade vinyl upholstery and leather inserts, new carpeting with soundproof underlayment, new Step n Tow bumper, 2″ Reese hitch, tonneau cover and removable oak wood stakes.
