This beautiful two-owner 2001 Mercedes Benz SLK320 6-speed Convertible only has 15,450 original miles and is part of the MS CLASSIC CARS “NO RESERVE” COLLECTION. The “R170” is the first generation of the Mercedes-Benz SLK-class range of compact luxury roadsters produced between 1996 and 2004. The letters SLK stands for the company’s design mission to create a sportlich (sporty), leicht (light) and kurz (compact). As the original window sticker that’s included documents this example was ordered and shipped to Leith, INC Mercedes Benz located in Raleigh, NC. It was ordered with the following options: Brilliant Silver exterior, Charcoal Leather and the K4 package which includes the headlamp washing system, Xenon headlamps and heated seats. For the 2001 model year the six speed manual transmission was introduced, replacing the existing five-speed manual transmission. As the clean Car Fax Report that’s included documents the first owner who lived in Cary, NC took delivery on July 17th, 2000. The first owner enjoyed the car for over 15 years before selling it to the second owner in October of 2015 with 9,354 original miles. The second owner also lives in Cary, NC and that’s where the car has been until recently. The exterior of this car is in excellent original condition. It retains 100% of its original factory Brilliant Silver paint which was tested with an electronic paint meter by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine. The car features a one touch power-retractable hardtop that works smoothly. Additional exterior equipment includes tinted glass, heated rear window, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, headlight washers, fog lights and night security illumination. The 16” five spoke alloy wheels are wrapped with new Fullway HP108 tires that are 205-55-16 on the front and 225-50-16 on the rear. The Charcoal leather interior is also in beautiful excellent original condition with wood accents. The wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel frames white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional interior equipment includes an auto dimming rear view mirror, integrated garage door opener, dual zone climate control with dust filter, AM/FM/WB/Cassette radio with 6-disc CD changer, 6-speaker Bose sound system, dual cup holders and dual integrated roll bars. The trunk compartment is surprisingly spacious with 9.5 cubic feet of cargo room when the top is up and 6.0 cubic feet when it’s down. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with no signs of oxidation or deterioration. It still retains all the original factory stickers and assembly paint marks. The car is powered by a 3.2L Twin Spark, 18-valve aluminum V6 engine with Sequential Multipoint Fuel Injection. This engine was factory rated with 215 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission which is very desirable for collectors and driving enthusiasts. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. The front independent double wishbone suspension and rear independent 5 arm multi-link suspension provides a comfortable ride. It’s equipped with (ESP) – electronic stability program and (ASR) – automatic slip control for safety. The stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs. The original owner’s manuals, windscreen and Mercedes Benz car cover are included. This vehicle was recently serviced and detailed which is documented with invoices that are included.
