This sweet 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883R with 3,835 original miles is a great cruiser and part of the MS CLASSIC CARS “NO RESERVE” Collection. This is a one owner motorcycle that has been very well cared for over the last 17 years. It was purchased new by a gentleman who lives in Moosup, CT which is documented on the title. The thundering Harley-Davidson XR flat-track racer is the inspiration for the XL Sportster 883R. Harley-Davidson stayed true to the H-D Racing look with three available color schemes which included black on orange, black on black or black on silver. Each 883R model is dressed with a racy checkered-flag racing graphic on the 3.3 gallon fuel tank. The handlebars, headlamp eyebrow, fork sliders, rear springs, brake calipers, air cleaner cover and 13-spoke cast-aluminum wheels were finished in no-nonsense black. This example was finished in the most sought-after color combination of black on black. The paint was recently detailed to show quality shine. The speedometer is mounted in front of the low-rise handlebar with mid-mount controls, shift and brake levers. It’s equipped with sporty black dual mirrors and a one-piece two passenger seat with passenger foot pegs. The tubular steel frame houses the rubber-mounted air cooled 883cc Evolution V-Twin engine that’s factory rated with 54HP @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is powder-coated black with wrinkle-black covers. The engine breathes through chrome staggered shorty dual exhaust pipes which sound awesome. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This transmission was advertised as smoother and quieter with light clutch effort. The suspension components include 39mm front forks and adjustable rear coil over shocks. It’s equipped with dual front disc brakes for quicker stopping. It rolls on black and silver 13-spoke aluminum wheels that are 19 x 2.15 on the front and 16 x 3.0 on the rear. The wheels are wrapped with Dunlop Harley-Davidson series tires that are D401F 100/90-19 on the front and D401 150/80B-16 on the rear. A new side stand reduces the effort required to lift the motorcycle off the stand by 40%. It’s rated at 48 mpg in the city and 57 mpg on the highway which makes it an affordable option for commuting purposes. This motorcycle has been completely serviced by the previous owner and ready to enjoy.
